The replacement canopy for the Deluxe Garden Glider is not designed to be waterproof. Its primary purpose is to provide shade and reduce sun exposure, rather than protect against heavy rain. It may shed light rain, but in a heavier downpour you would still get wet, especially from the sides.
Some of the fabric options are not water-resistant at all, which is noted in the product specifications. Additionally, the canopy does not have a top vent, so airflow comes from the sides of the glider rather than through the canopy itself.
